Food Service:
Students will be placed into either position at the Manager's discretion. FOOD SERVICE WORKER. The essential functions of this position include food prep, serving, washing dishes, deaning kitchen and dining rooms, and cleaning restrooms. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Long black pants and non-skid black shoes are required while working in the Food Service Department. RUSTIC CAFE WORKER. The essential functions of this position include food prep, serving customers, washing dishes, cleaning and stocking the Rustic Cafe. Will be responsible for working with the cash register and cash reports. Must be friendly and outgoing, have good customer service skills and able to work unsupervised. Must be able to up to 70 lbs. Working schedules in the Rustic Cafe will vary but will include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Long black pants and non-skid black shoes are required while working in the Food Service Department. Housekeeper:
The essential functions of this position include cleaning guest cabins, lodge rooms and lobby areas to provide a positive guest experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning fireplaces, vacuuming carpet, dusting, stripping bed linens, making beds, washing windows, cleaning toilets, sinks and showers, emptying trash, mopping and sweeping floors, cleaning ovens as well as assisting in other areas where needed. Participants must be able to carry 30 lbs. up and down stairs. Moving furniture and appliances up to 150 lbs may also be required. Weekend work is required. Based on business needs, participants may be required to work in other Departments and/or the other Center. During employment, participants are expected to meet certain standards of performance and conduct themselves as explained in the seasonal handbook. The YMCA is a Greenheart Employer! The pay is based on 40 hours per week, if participants work less than 40 hours, the pay will be prorated. Housekeepers will be using cleaning chemicals. Housekeepers may also be doing laundry duties. This includes receiving and sorting linens and operating washers and dryers in accordance with safety standards. Participants will be ironing, folding, wrapping, storing or hanging completed laundry and maintaining the laundry room and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Additional duties include making minor repairs to items, i.e., replace buttons or mending torn clothes and linens. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals and will be required to lift and carry 50 and 75 pounds, move continuously and walk and stand for long periods of time during their work shift. Participants must also be prepared to work in a work environment that is at times hot and damp.
