Participants will work as line cooks, fast food servers/cashiers and general cleaners. Shifts will be approximately 6-8 hours between the hours of 11AM and 1AM. The latest shift begins at 6PM. Employees will be standing and walking about in a hot crowded environment during the entire shift. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals.
Line Cook: Expeditiously and accurately prepare, cook and serve food according to restaurant specifications and procedures.
Job duties:
-Work with very hot grills and deep fryers
-Cook hamburgers, steak, chicken, French fries, and other fried foods
-Wash, chop and prepare food products
-Sanitize surfaces and take out trash Note: Participants will be handling pork products.
Fast Food Server/Cashier: Greet customers, provide speedy service, and be knowledgeable about the menu. Must have excellent customer service skills.
Job duties:
-Take food orders
-Energetic and able to move and work in hot/fast paced environment
-Use cash registers, process transactions and make change
-Must have basic math skills and knowledge of US currency
-Assemble food for the customer -Pour drinks -Package French fries, hot dogs and other food items
-Clean and stock workstations
When business is slower, participants will be asked to conduct general cleaning duties including cleaning:
-Bathroom walls, floors, tiles, grout, sink and toilets
-Kitchen walls floors, kitchen equipment and refrigeration units
-Locker rooms -Dining room tables, chairs and condiment containers
-Parking lot, steps, outside tables, and seating areas
Note: If participants do not wish to do these duties, participants can ask to go home early instead, but this will mean working fewer hours.
