Server:

As a server, participants will be taking customers orders, serving food and beverages, preparing itemized checks, and accepting payment. Servers may perform additional duties, which may include escorting guests to tables, serving customers seated at counters, setting up and clearing tables, and operating a computer based system for making orders and processing payment. Servers (also known as wait staff) must be professional, polite, and reliable. They must speak excellent English to be able to understand and converse with the customers and they must be able to learn and describe food proficiently. Wait Staff also need to be familiar with the menu, with how the food is prepared, what it tastes like and if special requests are allowed. They need to be informed about specials and special events. Participants will earn tips in this position; employer will apply tip credit to equal minimum wage of Wisconsin ($7.25) if necessary. On average, participants make between $15-$20 an hour with tips. Tips are at the discretion of the customers.
Prep Cooks:
Language Level required for this position: Good
Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking food per recipe guidelines, preparing batters, slicing meats and vegetables. Participants will be in charge of restocking and maintaining workstations to assure plenty of product is always available, and for cleaning of all workstations at the end of the day, including sweeping and mopping of floors. Employer may ask participants to perform other duties related to their job type. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals. Participants may be handling pork products.
